This year we hosted a number of walking parties with great success and will be looking forward to their return next year.
This specific walking package was tailored to the group’s abilities. The package included guided walks ranging from 5km –10km of village, mountain & river marked paths. They also went on a day trip to Thonon-les- Bains (see below for the many options the area has to offer). The package consisted of half board with all airport and local area transfers. There are a number of shops, bars,
a bakery with coffee shop and restaurants. From fine French cuisine to an excellent pizzeria take out or eat in situated inside Bar National, sports bar. There is also
a tourist information and Bureau de la montagne, which organizes half-day trips, overnight refuge stays and bike tours.
Cistercian Abbey at Saint Jean d'Aulps. Walking distance from chalet
There are weekly tours and lectures on the first monks who arrived at the end of the 11th century. Discover the unique architecture of the Abbeys structure and meander around La Guerinieres medicinal garden.
In the summer months a number of activities from Medieval pageants to
theatre is hosted in the beautiful surroundings of the abbey.
Grand Terche - 15min walk from the chalet.
Lift system takes you up the Grand Terche giving you easy access to higher mountain paths. Excellent views of the valley and Lake Geneva (Leman) can be seen from there. Excellent bars and restaurants, all within walking distance from the chalet.
River Dranse 10min walk from the chalet.
There is fishing and over 30km of river paths suitable for walking and mountain bikes.

Les Gorges du Pont du Diable. 10 min drive away.
A Beautiful gorge with stunning marble rock faces exposed by hundreds of thousands of years or erosion by the river Dranse.
Montriond Lake 10 min drive away (walking possible)
A lake of outstanding beauty. Lifeguard swimming area, canoeing, hiking, walking, pony rides and fishing. Restaurants and picnicking
area's are also found. Signposted walks which lead you to the thundering Ardent waterfall.
In summer, spectacular fireworks displays & entertainment are
hosted there.
Les Linderetts - Goat village high up in the mountains, 20 min drive away.
Mountain restaurants and shops. Have lunch or just feed the friendly goats that reign over the village. Mountain trails for walking and cycling, lift system for bikes and tired walkers. Here you will also find fantasticable, the zip wire, very popular with the brave who wish to fly like a bird from valley to valley.
Sporting activities within 15min drive from the chalet.
Rafting, Canoeing and Kayaking. Hydrospeed bodysurfing, Bungee jumping, Canyoning, Climbing, Parapenting (flights with a instructor or weekend-week long courses available). Insured professionals manage all these extreme sports. Golf, Mountain biking and fishing is also enjoyed here.

Annecy, Medieval town on lake Annecy. 1˝ hr drive away

Chamonix, glacier village on the border of Italy 1˝ hr drive away
Glacier walking and the icehouse are some of the attractions. A quick journey through the famous Mont Blanc tunnel takes you into Italy.
These are some of the local attractions we recommend, however there are many other places to explore in the mountains and around Lake Geneva (Lac Leman to the French). The lakes in summer are generally warm, with air temperature in the 80s. The lake waters are crystal clear, with secluded little coves dotted all around the shores. BBQ areas and peddeloes for hire.
We strongly recommend in summer that you hire a car, there is so much to see and do and your independence will allow you to discover this amazing area at your own pace. The roads are generally quiet and all places are easily accessible. If you are a group that wishes to have an activity holiday without the hassle of driving, we can arrange an activity week.
