THE SKIING IN THE PORTES DU SOLEIL - MORZINE - LES GETS - AVORIAZ...........With Guaranteed snow from December to end of April our catered ski chalet is ideally situated, gaining fast access to Ardent, the fast track into the heart of the Portes du Soleil, which is less than 15min away.  Skiing and Boarding starting off at Ardent allows easy access to Morzine,  Avoriaz,  Champery, Chatel,  Les Crosets and  Morgins and all 650 km of piste is covered by lift pass.  The pistes of Morzine and Les Gets are only 10-15min away and our local one the Grande Terche is only a minute away  fro our catered chalet and is excellent for quiet tree lined skiing. THE SERVICE......WE offer catered or self catered options as well as help all our guest with arranging lift passes, ski lessons, ski board and ski hire.  Airport transfers and Morzine, Les Gets and Avoriaz (from Ardent) are also arranged.  

CHILDREN AND CHILDCARE.....We offer Winter holiday and Summer holiday childcare  either from our chalet or from a French registered child minder.

Our  large catered chalet was purpose built around 50 years ago to accommodate guests. Parquet floors, wooded ceiling and an open log fire create a warm homely feel to the chalet. We have a TV lounge with log fire in winter, another relaxing lounge and separate dining room. Down in the basement we have a heated children’s play room with satellite television, table football, drawing equipment and books to keep them amused. You can see that there is ample room for all.

Our 8-9 bedrooms are either family suits of two rooms and a bathroom or en-suite bedrooms. Most rooms have balconies with panoramic mountain views (please contact us for bedroom layout if required).

A catered ski holiday or catered Mountain holiday in the French Alps has never being easier and with three options to choose from, we offer something for everyone with Half board, Bed and Breakfast or Self catering options available.  Half board offers excellent value with high quality menus and Alpine cuisine on offer. Our Self catering options allow you to rent the chalet and set your own pace

THE SUMMER....

Our Alpine chalet offers an excellent base of a Summer French Alps activity holiday.  Mountain, lake, Historic towns and city holidays are all within easy reach from the chalet.  Outdoor activates on our doorstep are endless with Golf, Fishing, Canyoning  and Whitewater rafting are to name a few.  There is also mapped walking and mountain biking, religious and cheese making trails.  Wild flowers and wild birds are plentiful: many can be seen in our garden which leads down to small stream at the bottom of a wooded garden.  Lake Montriond our local mountain lake offers swimming, walking, pony trekking and biking whilst Lake Leman, just under 25min away has more of a Rivera feel to it and boasts a host of Medieval villages, quaint towns with chateaux and vineyards The city of Geneva is less than 1H15min away with boat trips leaving from Thonon to Lausanne, Yvoire , Evian and many others leaving at regular intervals..  There is also quite unspoilt areas for swimming, water-skiing.  Boats and Yachts are also available for hire.

There is also a designated nudist beach in Thonon les Bains for those who dare to go bare

AYCLIFFE WALKERS ENJOY A SECOND YEAR OF GUIDED MOUNTAIN WALKS

 In June this year a party of 15 over 50’s from Aycliffe walking group enjoyed a great holiday at Chalet Christiania.

All the walking packages are tailored to the group’s abilities ranging from 5km –10km of village, mountain & river marked path .  They also had a day trip to Thonon-les-Bains and Laussane (see our summer activity link). The accommodation consisted of half board with all airport and local area transfers. 

We also welcomed The Banbury walkers in June and look forward to another group of walkers that will be visiting us in September.  Aycliff have already booked up next year and we look forward to there return.
